Portrait photography is a lot of fun and very challenging. As I said earlier, photography as an art form is totally out of control. Portrait's will give you back just a little of that control. With models you can control the actual poses that are done along with props and backgrounds. Studio lights can also be adjusted.
Subjects for portrait photography can be anyone or anything that is willing to be photographed. People / models, bands, weddings, special events, and even pets can make for some great shoots if your willing to try and invest in some studio lighting and equipment. I have found that I prefer using a digital camera for this type of photography since expressions can change in less than a second. Having fast reflexes for hitting the shutter release is a must if you want to capture the very best of those rare special moments.
